About Routinius

Routinius is a small iPhone and iPad app made by an independent developer and parent in Southern California. It does one job well: it puts a child's routine on a screen they can follow, one picture at a time, with a timer they can see and a bedtime that winds itself down.

The guides on this site exist because the same questions come up in every family: how to get out the door without ten reminders, how to explain "five more minutes" to a three-year-old, how to stop bedtime stretching to two hours. Each guide starts with what you can do for free with paper, a kitchen timer or your phone, and mentions Routinius only where it actually helps.

We are not doctors or therapists. Visual schedules and timers are widely used supports, not treatments; if your child has a diagnosis or a care team, they are the best people to tailor a routine with you.

How we check these facts

Prices and phone settings change, so we keep every one we cite in one place, with its source and the date we last checked it:

  • iPhone and iPad settings come from Apple's own support pages. Prices come from the App Store listing itself.
  • Everything is re-checked at least every 90 days, and the date on each guide changes when we update it.
  • We don't quote studies or statistics we haven't read, and we say plainly when something is a common practice rather than a proven result.
